'Miles'

What would a Horse Drive be without Miles? He would never let us leave him behind. Miles is a true pocket monster and considers himself more human than horse. He is always used for the Drive, on gathers, and the foxhunt. He works steady every summer for a trail riding operation, and has never missed a fall hunting season. We keep him home all winter so that we can use him ourselves. He has stamina, speed, and guts. When out, he always has his ears pricked forward and works to please and listen to his rider. He is also gentle, willing, and patient enough for a novice and likes to go out both by himself or with a group. He can be packed, can lead pack horses, has no problem with whips or ropes, and loads and shoes easily. Actually a papered Appaloosa, we bought him five years ago from a breeder in Wyoming whose daughter used him as her own saddle horse. He has no Appy markings and sheds out into a beautiful sorrel, very handsome red gelding. When we look out into the corral on a work day, we are always glad to see Miles waiting. He has a giant personality and a loving disposition. He is around 15.1hh and weighs about 1000#.
