'Skip'
1994 APHA Gelding
A papered paint horse, Skip has been used both at private summer retreats and in commercial operations. He has worked for small children and for older novice men. Skip is always on the Horse Drive as a saddle horse and though he is gentle enough to work for guests, he is often used as a staff saddle horse because he is able to keep up and is handy. He will pack and is comfortable with hounds. Skip has gathered horses, trailed cattle, he can be roped off, and is capable of being a cowboy's horse. His stout rear end makes him a great rope horse prospect or even for barrels. He's a bit of a pet, who prefers to be around people and in a nice ranch situation over just one of the herd. His is patient with beginners and happily digs in when called upon. We like him and have used him in horsemanship, pack, and feed/care demos as our "model" horse. We consider him to be an honest, ranch-type horse that would be perfect for any working operation or as a little girl's pet. He stands about 15.2hh and weighs around 1100#.
